*Bachelor's of Music Degree in Instrumental Music Education (June 2007).
*Flute Studio Graduate Assistant at Western Michigan University, Master's
Degree in Music Performance (June 2009)
*14 of my students played on the first annual flute studio recital and they were
amazing!
*Studio Accomplishments:
Brenna: Accepted into the Flute Studio @ Western Michigan University!
Stephanie (12th): Division 1 rating at District and State Solo and Ensemble,
Bravo Winner, Spring Conference All-star Band, 2008 Seminarian, accepted at
Hope College, Central Michigan University and Western Michigan University
for studies in music.
Kristin (12th): Division 1 rating at District and State Solo and Ensemble, Spring
Conference All-star Band, attending Glen Oaks College, 2008 Seminarian.
Allison (11th): Division 1 rating at District and State Solo and Ensemble, Spring
Conference All-star Band, 2008 Seminarian.
Mary Anne (11th): Division 1 rating at District and State Solo and Ensemble
(highest piccolo solo score at State!).
You girls rock!

| Private lessons My goal as a private lessons teacher is to give each student a solid foundation of tone and technique that they can build off of without my help. My goal is for my students to leave me as independent musicians that can form educated opinions of the music they play. | My Philosophy of Music Education Music and the arts help to balance every child’s and adult’s whole education. Music and the arts help to balance out the factual side of life, because music is primarily a vessel of expression. Music provides an expressive and creative outlet for many, in which we are vulnerable and grow. My goal is to provide a better understanding of our world as well as provide opportunities for expressive growth through musical learning. Through this learning, students will be exposed to music in a hands on environment in which they can develop creativity in musical thought, performance, and composition. |
